Thanks for the information.

The 24fps is a different problem than the crashing we see with the streaming films.

The films I've posted come from different sources - some from my commercial DVDs, some from conversions I've done here. The problem films are from the commercial DVDs - but not every film from those DVDs is bad.

I'll do some more investigating.

The alcohol PSAs and MUNCHERS are interlaced 29.97 files. They play great. ALCOHOL DYNAMITE and SOAPY are 24P files. They're good in the 24P Vegas timeline, but they don't play well in Media Player with the codec I have installed. Different MPEG decoders may play the files okay in Media Player, I dunno.

The stubborn files are very useful for creative editing in 24P as they are - but for some reason I have to reduce my Vegas preview window to draft quality to see what I'm doing. Even VOBs from commercial high-quality DVDs don't do this, so I have no idea what's so different about the stubborn files here.
